Main points from the Parish Pastoral Committee meeting

Pastoral Committee – Key Points arising from the 5th February 2026 Meeting
East Grinstead and Lingfield element of new ‘Combined Parish’

OLSP Forum – Update

  • The OLSP Forum has been established (to essentially mirror the activities of the existing St Bernard’s Forum). Minutes have been published on the Parish website.
  • The aim will be to have between 3 and 4 meetings per year with a clear focus on the day to day operational needs of the Parish.

Bishop’s Plan for diocese – Update:

  • This is effectively on hold following the elevation of Bishop Richard and we should not expect any further changes/announcements until his successor is appointed (which could take some while).
  • In the interim the status quo will continue: i.e. East Grinstead and Lingfield will remain “our Parish”, although this will not prevent ongoing communication across the Parishes in the Diocese.

Formation:

  • A Bible group course has been launched with an opportunity for parishioners to sign up – please watch out for further news on this in the Parish newsletter as regards the timing of sessions.
  • The First Holy Communion intake this year numbers 30 children (up from 20 last year), with 20 children coming from Year 4 in St Peter’s.

St Peter’s School:
There remains a need to attract new school Governors. Please contact Father Jack if you wish to learn more about this important role.

Young People Planning Group:
There are 6 people in this year’s cohort for 2026 Confirmation. Please watch out for further updates in the Parish newsletter/online.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:
We are looking for an additional 3 Ministers who would regularly attend the 10:30am Mass on Sunday morning. Please contact Father Jack for further details.
