St Peter’s School
There remains an ongoing need to attract new school Governors. Please contact Father Jack if you wish to learn more about this important role.
Social Events
Please keep an eye out for upcoming events as we head towards Christmas and support these if you can. A few declared events are:
- The Parish will be holding a Christmas Lunch on Sunday 6th December at St Bernard’s – further details to follow.
- Christmas Carol concert at St Bernard’s on Sunday 13th December starting at 4pm followed by mince pies and mulled wine. Donations will be going towards the South Sudan Baby Feeding Programme.
Live Simply
The Parish is considering to partake in a CAFOD initiative entitled the “Live Simply Award”, which is in line with the words of Pope Francis in his encyclical letter Laudate Si in which he invites us all to “work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted to us”. A short leaflet explaining more is attached with ideas/further information that can be found at the following link: https://cafod.org.uk/campaign/livesimply-award/livesimply-ideas
The Parish of East Grinstead and St Bernard’s are already doing many aspects mentioned in the Live Simply briefing document
Concern for Creation and our Environment goes hand in hand with concern for Social justice and is a way of life not “an add on.” The proposal to take Live Simply forward is timely as we celebrate the Season of Creation culminating in the 800th anniversary of St Francis of Assisi’s death.
