The Catholic Parish of East Grinstead and Lingfield is a vibrant and active faith community located in West Sussex and Surrey. Comprising two main churches, Our Lady and St. Peter in East Grinstead and St. Bernard’s in Lingfield, the parish serves a diverse congregation with a rich tapestry of spiritual and social activities. In the past Our Lady of the Forest, Forest Row was also part of the parish. Central to parish life is the celebration of the Eucharist, complemented by a variety of liturgical services, prayer groups, and sacramental preparation programs. The parish fosters a welcoming environment, inviting both long-standing members and newcomers to engage in its religious and communal activities, thereby strengthening the bonds of faith and fellowship among parishioners.
In addition to its spiritual offerings, the parish is deeply committed to social outreach and community service. The monthly lunch club and the Catenian Association provide regular opportunities for social interaction and support among parish members. The parish also actively supports charitable organizations such as CAFOD and the SVP (Society of St. Vincent de Paul), engaging in numerous initiatives to aid those in need both locally and globally. Through educational programs, youth groups, and family-oriented events, the parish seeks to nurture the faith of its younger members while providing meaningful ways for families to grow together in their spiritual journeys. The Catholic Parish of East Grinstead and Lingfield stands as a testament to the power of faith in action, dedicated to worship, service, and the cultivation of a compassionate and inclusive community.
